(Using only 2 ingredients)
I used to think you had to be a really experienced cook to be successful at making your own candy but I was wrong. This DIY Easter candy is so easy to make and it is only two ingredients.
Watch the full tutorial in this video. Complete instructions are below.
Supplies:
Candy melts
Sprinkles or Nonpareils
Silicone cup cake liners or candy molds
Heat proof bowl
Pot small enough to set bowl on top of
Spatula
Microwave oven & stove
Set out your silicone molds and candy sprinkles. Add your desired amount of candy melts to your heat proof bowl. Following package directions melt the candy in the microwave. While that is melting fill your pot with water and bring to a boil on the stove top.
Once your candy is melted turn off the heat on the pot and set the bowl on the pot to keep it warm while you are working. You can move the bowl closer to your work surface and replace it on the warm pot as needed to keep the candy melted. Transfer enough of the melted mixture to cover the bottom of your mold.
While the candy is still warm and melted add your sprinkles to the top so they sink in a bit and will stick to the chocolate.
Once your molds are filled put them in the freezer to cool for at least a half an hour.
Once the chocolate has thoroughly cooled you can take them out of the freezer and unmold them. Gently flex the silicone mold to loosen the candy and pop them out of the molds.
Once your candy is made you can go the extra mile and make some cute packaging for them. I used small treat bags, patterned scrapbook paper and a stapler.
Check out the video instructions above to see how to put these packages together.
