Have you ever been out at a restaurant for lunch where they serve you a sandwich with a fancy toothpick in it? I love that! It’s such an extravagance. I mean the toothpick is a single use item but sometimes you just need them whether it is to hold your sandwich together or pick up a cube of cheese at a fancy party. These picks are the easiest thing to make yourself – make a whole box of them so they are ready when you need them!

Supplies:
– toothpicks
– plastic beads
– glue gun and glue
– needle nose pliers (for holding the bead)

First gather all your materials. I used a piece of velour so that my beads would not roll all over the place. Add a tiny bit of hot glue to the end of the toothpick.

Next, working quickly slide the bead onto your toothpick. I pressed the bead down so that the toothpick comes out the other end. That way you don’t see the hole in the end of the bead. You can also add another bead to the end.

I found some small plastic crystal beads with smaller holes that worked really well also.

This is a little bit addicting! Keep going until you have enough or do the whole box!

I always like to package up my creations if they are meant for use later. So I used a clear treat bag and added a label. I will just put these with my party supplies so they are there when I need them.

These easy to make cocktail picks are so handy to have around. You can use them for all kinds of treats – hors d’oeuvres, charcuterie platter or garnishes for drinks.
